Hi and welcome to the new
site for the first annual World Barrel Racing
Challenge.
In this Olympic year it only makes
sense to challenge International teams to a shoot out in barrel racing
to see who the best of the best are. This challenge is quickly
turning into one of the most exciting barrel racing events in
recent memory and we plan to make it an annual event. To make
the team, barrel racers will be able to qualify in a regional
race near them after submitting an application. Team USA will consist of our nations
best barrel racers who qualified to make the trip, along with 10
of the international community's best. These semi-finalists will go
head-to-head in the first race, and the top ten finalists from
around the world and USA will run a second time in the finals to determine
who takes home the coveted World Finals Golden Barrel.
The Golden Barrel will be a
traveling trophy, and like the super bowl, it will exchange
hands with the winner each year.
The First Annual World
Barrel Racing Challenge is already getting people excited and
entry applications and sponsorship are high. Each country enjoys
marketing to each other, and there is a natural competitiveness
and a history of rivalry with our neighbors. Qualifying members
will wear their country's colors with shirts, jackets and other
Team USA and Team International clothing wear available to both
contestants and those who wish to identify with this event each
year. We have already been contacted by several magazines for
stories, and the race will be webcasted live on Barrel Horse World
with over 50,000 visits a day.
For complete coverage of this
years qualification races, and to watch who makes the teams,
come back to see who qualifies, pictures, interviews, and
comments from contestants and find out who the top sponsors for
this race will be in the coming months. Updates will be
posted here and will be sent to everyone on our mailing list
with a new WBRC newsletter going to over 16,000 barrel racers.
